Five years have passed, since the terrible battle with picollo in the martial arts tournament. Gokou and ChiChi have been married, and have their first child named Gohan in honor of Gokou's grandfather. Since then, ChiChi has become a very strict mother, and is really tough in having Gohan work on his studies. Gokou and Gohan decide to visit Master Roshi's house for the day.North of where Gokou's house is located, a new being has arrived on earth. As he lands, he notices that the earth hasn't been destroyed yet. Saiyans are sent to different worlds to destroy them, which in this case, Kakarotto was sent to destroy it. As this being is thinking, using his scouter, find that there is a very large force nearby him, and goes to find out who it is. As he arrives to this forces location, he finds it isn't Kakarott. As to a surprise, it is Picollo who he finds. Picollo becoming extremely angry, fires at this being. As the being is ready to attach Picollo, he finds there is a much stronger force away from him, and leaves to find out to whom this force belongs to. While Gokou is showing everyone at Master Roshi's house, how big Gohan has grown since they last saw him, the all feel a great force coming rite to their location. As the force keeps coming, they all become scared at the extreme power of this being. As the being comes into contact with Kame House, he finds Kakarotto, who is actually Gokou. This being then identifies himself as Radditz, another saiyan just like Gokou. Radditz then explains to Kakarotto, how he was from the planet vegita just like him. Radditz then realizes that Gokou is missing his tail, and asks him what happened to it. Gokou then says, they took it off, because it wasn't necessary for him to have. To this point, Radditz then reveals why his tail is very important to him, which is how he can convert into a great and very powerful ape when he sees the full moon. Gokou doesn't want to accept the reason that he is from another planet, and from then is revealed to him that his planet was mysteriously destroyed, killing the majority of the sayans, except for 4 of them. Radditz then noticing that Gokou has a son, takes him captive, and tells Gokou to kill some humans, and that in exchange of killing the humans, he will give him his son back. Gokou gets angry and tries to hit Radditz, but Radditz hits him back with a great force, almost knocking him out. From this, Radditz leaves, and awaits for Gokou to kill the people. Gokou will not kill the humans, and is determined to defeat Radditz in battle. From them, Picollo arrives, and tells Gokou he will never be able to defeat him alone. Gokou and Picollo join forces to go and destroy Radditz, for the fate of the earth.
As Radditz is there with Gohan, he sticks Gohan inside his space ship to wait there, until Gokou comes back.
As Gokou and Picollo arrive, they begin to fight. As they are fighting, their hits seem to be useless against Radditz. As Gokou asks Picollo if he has any new techniques learned, Picollo reveals to him he has another attack. As Picollo launches his attack, Radditz is amazed it penetrated through his tough armor he is wearing. From this, Radditz begins to beat upon Gokou strongly. Gohan beginning to get extremely angry, blasts out of the space ship, and fly's towards Raddits with a great amount of rage, and hits Radditz with a large amount of force. Raditz being damaged, gets enraged with Gokou, and throws a special attack at him. From this point, Gokou and Picollo devise a plan, which is for Gokou to hold Radditz in position, and Picollo fire his special attack, resulting in Radditz's defeat. There is a problem to this, that when the attack is launched, it will penetrate through Gokou as well. But this is something Gokou will have to take. As Gokou holds Radditz in place, Picollo launches his attack, and sure enough, it penetrates Gokou as well.
As Radditz is lying almost dead on the floor, he sends a message to the other Saiyans that are out in space, to come to earth, and that he has been defeated. From then, Radditz dies. As Gokou's friends arrive to the place where the battle has taken place, they see Gokou lying on the floor, allmost dead, as Gokou speaks his lasts words, and dies, Picollo then lets the others know, that he will be taking Gohan for training to unveil his true power within him. This training is for the purpose of defeating the Saiyans that will come in 1 year.
When Gokou then realizes he is dead, he then is taken to go and visit the great Kiosama, to train him for when the Saiyans come. The way Gokou will come back, is by being brought back to life, using the dragonballs power. There is a problem towards getting to Kaiosama's place. Gokou must travel through the Snake Way to get to his small planet. The snake way is extremely long, and Gokou must travel through all of it. As Gokou arrives at the end of the Snake way, he gets to Kaiosama's Planet. There, the gravity is 10 times greater than regular earth gravity, which is good for Gokou's training. Gokou then has to pass through Kiosama's tests in order to be trained by him. Kiosama then trains him, and teaches him his two main essential techniques, which he will use against the Saiyans that come to earth.
As the year goes by, he is revived by the dragonballs, but then realizes, that he must go through the snake way again, to reach the place to go back to earth. As Gokou travels through the snake way, the fighters on earth begin to fight with the Saiyans. The Saiyans grow on earth 6 little warriors which kill Yamcha, and injures others. As this all happens, they decide to wait a bit until Gokou arrives. As the Saiyans become impatient, they begin to fight and kill Picollo. As they are about to kill Gohan as well, Gokou then arrives and stops them. From there, Vegeta who is one of the saiyans, kills the other saiyan there named Napa. Gokou begins his battle with Vegeta.As Gokou arrives, Gohan and Krillen are badly hurt, Gokou gives them a piece of as senshu bean, to recover their health. As Gokou begins his fight with Vegeta, he tells Gohan and Krillin to get out of the battle area. As Gohan and Krillin leave, Gokou begins his attacks with the Kaioken. The Kaioken is a powerfull attack, that can make Gokou travel at a great amount of speed, as well was hit with a great amount of force. As Gokou uses these, the try's it at 2x, because Vegeta isn't getting that much damage with the Kaioken at 1x.
While Gohan and Krillin are flying away from there, Gohan decides to go back and help out his father fight the Saiyans. As Vegeta turns into a giant ape, using the artificial moon he created, he is defeating Gokou rapidly. From then, Gokou uses a technique which blinds the opponent for a few seconds. As he does this technique, he goes afar, and begins to make the great henkidama. This henkidama, is composed of all the energy of the earth, into one huge power ball, which he want to through at Vegeta. But Vegeta reaches Gokou before he is able to through it. As another friend of Gokou arrives, with a sword, he cuts off Vegeta's tail, making him transform into his original stage again. From then, Krillin arrives, and begins to talk with Gokou. Gokou give Krillin the power he gathered so that Krillin can launch it at Vegeta. As Krillin launches it at Vegeta, Vegeta repels it. Gohan being on the other side, and the henkidama coming straight for him, is contacted by his father, Gokou, and tells him he can repel it back to Vegeta if he just concentrates in repelling it back. Gohan then repels it back, and hits Vegeta. Vegeta isn't killed, but is badly hurt. Vegeta then goes back to his space ship and leaves earth. Gokou being badly hurt, and no more senshu beans available for him, is brought to the hospital to recover. From then they all decide to go to Namek, to retrieve the dragonballs from there, to revive the people that died which were killed by the Saiyans. This brings us to the end of the Vegeta Saga.
